From the Worktable: Larkspur

Potted them on from their small seed trays into cells.

I expected a few take a hissy wobble. They didn’t.

By morning they’d lifted. Almost smiling. True leaves out, a touch taller. Arms out like…surprise!

Not a hint of hesitation. No sulk, no pause. Just straight into it.

They’ve been labelled as difficult. Divas. I’m not seeing it.

They just don’t like interference. Move them at the right time, leave them alone and they get on with it.

Side eye the zinnias. Too cold, too wet, too damp. Pick one.

Whereas the Larkspur are saying hiya and carrying on.

Salmon Beauty never did show her face, so we try again. Let’s call it an extension of their flowering window.
