Cynoglossum from The Potager
A collection of our own saved Cynoglossum seed, gathered from plants grown in the potager. The parent plants include Firmament, Ms Marilyn and Mystic Pink, with the flowers left open to pollination by the bees. As a result, the seedlings may vary in colour, form and habit, making each sowing a little different from the last.
These are not guaranteed to come true to any one variety, but that is part of the joy of saving seed. You may find soft blues, pinks and other variations appearing among the plants as the different parent lines mingle.
Growing Notes
Sow indoors from August to October for flowering the following year, or from February to April for flowering in the same year. Sow onto moist compost and lightly cover the seed, they need light germinate. Keep at approximately 18–22°C until germination, which usually takes 5–10 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, pot on and grow on in cooler conditions. Harden off before planting outside in spring.
Position: Full sun
Height: Approx. 45 to 60cm
Type: Hardy Annual
Common Name: Chinese Forget-Me-Not
Contents: Approximately 40 seeds
